Friday night’s game between the Groesbeck Goats and the Whitney Wildcats, turned into a battle of touchdowns, as both teams went in looking for their first district win.

After leading for nearly three-quarters of Friday night’s district matchup with the West Trojans, the Groesbeck Goats ended up three points down as the horn sounded to end the game, falling to the host team, 31-28.
After placing ninth at the 5K district meet in Fairfield on Oct. 9, Groesbeck's Legend McLean ran a 67th-place time of 18:43.60 at the Region 3-3A Cross Country Championship.
