The Groesbeck Goats took a 2-0 lead at the start of their home game with the No. 7 ranked Mexia Blackcats, but from there the crimson and black would move ahead and that’s where they stayed to the very end of their 75-59 district win over their longtime rivals.
What a wild night of basketball for Groesbeck varsity teams last Tuesday evening at Palestine Westwood High School, or for a shorter term, Panther Gym.
The Groesbeck Goats were back at it on the basketball court during the Christmas break, as they hosted the Leon Cougars this past Friday in a noon tipoff, that saw the red and white put together a huge fourth-quarter run to win 57-45.
Tensions were high Friday night at the beginning of Groesbeck’s district basketball game with the Teague Lions.
