Teachers bring cheer to their students with drive by visits

Art and science teachers from Enge-Washington joined forces to bring cheer to students earlier this week. The teachers made signs, blared music and honked while visiting more than 40 addresses to their students, including the towns or Kosse, Thornton, Old Union and the lake areas. The children greeted the teachers in return from porches and yards, with some making signs to show back at the instructors. Contributed photo.

Hawkins Park now WiFi hotspot

WiFi connectivity was recently introduced to Hawkins Park to the City of Groesbeck via the sponsorship of the local Farmers State Bank, located across the street from the park gazebo. City and bank officials gathered to celebrate the development, intended for those passing through or students in need of WiFi with a hankering to work outside. Connectivity covers the entire park and portions of the block, so that those interested need only to park and log on. The router is weatherproof. Pictured left to right are Groesbeck Police Chief Chris Henson, Farmers State Bank President and CEO Terry Clearley, Mary Rand, Laura Billingsley and John Bush. A check totalling $9,000 was presented for the first five years of service for the WiFi.
