The Greater Austin Merchants Cooperative Association has donated $25,000 to the Central Texas Food Bank. This gift will provide 200,000 meals to Central Texans who are facing food insecurity due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency granted the Texas Department of Agriculture $73,056 in funding to provide pesticide training and inspection programs. The EPA is providing the funding as a multipurpose grant under a cooperative agreement.
Organizers reported that a drive-through fund-raiser benefit for the Gomez family, whom lost much in a recent home fire, was a roaring success Saturday, April 25.The family was reportedly not able to salvage much from the blaze, which began under the carport and engulfed much of the home.
The Kosse City Council held an emergency meeting on April 30, 2020. At the meeting, the Council voted to rescind the Shelter in Place rule for the City of Kosse effective May 1, 2020.
