Living Proof Church completed the seventh year of its backpack outreach program on July 31; gathering the necessary school supplies and backpacks to provide 151 area students a successful new school year.

The funds were proceeds from a drug forfeiture case investigated by the Mexia Police Department which were seized and forfeited by the County Attorney’s Office. Rafael Cruz, the father of Texas Senator Ted Cruz, was in Limestone County Thursday to speak on the current state of the Democratic Party and warn how it has taken on the goals and methods of Marxist ideology.
The Limestone County Historical Commission held its regular meeting on August 4 in the Limestone County Courtroom. Members present were Linda Jordan, Bubba McDonald, Bill Ferris, Linda Ferris, Cindy Pollard, Sarah McReynolds, and William Reagan.
