This week in Kosse history is a milestone that would forever change the face and fortune of this sleepy little town in Central Texas. The town; named for the chief engineer of the Houston and Texas Central Railroad, Theodore Kosse; was about to become the terminus for the railroad.
A post oak tree in Limestone County was determined in September to be the 13th largest post oak in Texas last month, but has already been displaced to 14th-largest when another tree was determined to be slightly larger.
Retired Army Col. and Vietnam veteran Paul Longgrear has spent most of his adult life as a preacher, but no one who knew him in his early years would have predicted that as his eventual vocation.
