Early voting for the March 1 primary ends Friday. Initial reports indicate turnout has been low, as is traditional in midterm primary elections, with less than a fourth of registered voters going to the polls most years.
The Groesbeck Study Club had its regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the Groesbeck Woman’s Club. Janice welcomed everyone and Nina Pool gave the devotional. She told us a story about a man that took an oil can everywhere he went and when there was difficulty, he would use the oil can to spray it wherever that was. She told us that if we used kindness and a good word here and there just like the man spraying the oil into difficult places, that we would soon see how much good that could do. She told us to please send sunshine wherever we go and to share it with everyone and it was a wonderful suggestion that everyone should follow.
Well, this weather has been a typical Texas week. Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.
This year, the Groesbeck Chamber Directors selected The Limestone County Child Welfare Board as Organization of the Year 2021 for their dedicated and tireless efforts in helping children in foster care and supporting the foster parents who take them in. Becky Gorgas, one of nine board members who has been involved for about as many years, has a lot of respect for foster parents and a heart for kids, making this volunteer work a perfect fit for her.
