The Groesbeck Lions Club met on Wednesday, August 31 for its weekly meeting. The meeting was held at Mi Rancho Mexican Restaurant here in Groesbeck.
Groesbeck resident John Jenkins signed a lease agreement in May with GranSolar, Texas LLC. for the use of up to 992 acres for 30 years. GranSolar intends to build a solar farm on the land.

Groesbeck High School Art Teacher Desirae Settlemyer is challenging her art students to get their work out there, and with a competitive spirit herself, she tends to practice what she preaches. Recently, Settlemyer earned first place in two separate art events at the State Fair of Texas, competing with professional artists and teachers from across the state.
