A tragic collision on Saturday, Jan. 6 resulted in the death of Madelyn Gilmore, a 23-year-old resident of Monroe, Michigan. The incident occurred at approximately 9:47 a.m.
A devastating fire broke out on Thursday around 3 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Angeline Street in Groesbeck, causing the loss of two residences. The Groesbeck Police Department reported that the 1000 block of West Angeline remained closed to thru traffic as fire crews continued working the scene, around 5 p.m.
A major fire has broken out in the 1000 block of West Angeline Street in Groesbeck. One structure is fully engulfed with threats to other structures in the area. Multiple emergency services are on the scene and are working to control the situation. We urge everyone to stay clear of the area—more updates to follow.
Update: Christopher Anthony Cayton turned himself in yesterday evening, Dec. 13, and is currently in custody.
Voter-Approved Tax Ratification Election for the Groesbeck ISD For (Limestone County) 779 votes, 56.57 percent Against (Limestone County) 598 votes, 43.43 percent GISD VATRE will result in the district generating an extra $800,000 in state funding without affecting the total tax rate. A vote “Against” would have required the GISD to reduce $800,000 from this year’s budget.
