The Groesbeck ISD Board of Trustees used their meeting Monday, July 17 to consider an opportunity to save money on their overall energy costs and approved an interlocal agreement that puts money in the district’s pocket.
Last year the Groesbeck ISD school board watched the devastation of schools across the country being forced to prepare for the unthinkable – the potential of a school shooting and considered appropriate policies. The Board updated local policy, authorizing a School Safety “Guardian” Program (TX Govt. Code 411.1901). Its purpose is to provide students and faculties an armed selfdefense option prior to the arrival of Law Enforcement in the event of an active shooter or “active killer” on campus.
More than two dozen like-minded Kosse locals gathered at the community center on Monday, July 10 with the goal of bringing back the Kosse Rodeo to Homecoming, and possibly increasing use of the arena to host additional events throughout the year.
The Groesbeck Police Department is asking for assistance on a stolen vehicle.
Around 3: 15 a. m. on July 9, a gold/ tan 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT four- door truck was taken from the parking lot of a business in the 400 block of South Ellis Street The vehicle had a black headache rack, black bed rails, black running boards, and chrome rims. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on Ellis Street. The vehicle did not have license plates at the time it was taken.
