Mexia Independent School District officials have confirmed a measles case within the district, as Texas faces its most significant outbreak of the disease in nearly three decades.
Groesbeck ISD has announced the hiring of Nelson M. Kortis as the district's new athletic director and head football coach, effective Feb. 10, 2025.
Groesbeck Independent School District (GISD) Superintendent Anthony Figueroa announced his decision to leave the district on the evening of Nov. 20. After nearly two years as GISD superintendent, Figueroa has been named the lone finalist for the superintendent position at Scurry-Rosser Independent School District following a unanimous 7-0 vote by their board.
After 49 years of coaching football, Groesbeck Athletic Director/Head Football Coach, Jerry Bomar, has decided to retire effective December 31st of this year. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Texas Tech University in 1975 and has been an AD/HC for the past 43 years consecutively.
