The Kosse City Council focused their efforts on determining how to approach enforcement of the city’s dilapidated home ordinance at their meeting on Tuesday, April 11. City Secretary Christina Lockhart explained that she had sent certified mail to the 11 homeowners with properties in the worst state of disrepair, and had received very few responses.
Trooper Chad M. Walker Highway Memorial signs are now officially up along Highway 164 West as you’re entering Groesbeck and all the way down Highway 164 East on the Navasota River.
Limestone County Judge Richard Duncan provided an update on Old Fort Parker at the Commissioners Court meeting Tuesday, April 25, thanking Jerry Herin and his Road and Bridge crew for their continued work on the site, as well as Paul Pyles and trustees for many hours of clean-up efforts.
Congratulations to Clover Diaz! The GHS freshman placed first in District UIL Ready Writing, gaining a spot at the regional meet that was held in Brenham last Saturday, April 22. Clover was the only GHS student to advance to the regional meet.
Cyler Corn won the shot put event and Braden Ramirez finished third in the 800-meter run to qualify for the Region III-3A track meet, which will be Friday and Saturday at Waco Midway High School.
