Two Groesbeck doubles teams made it to their championship matches and finished second at the Jacksonville Tennis Tournament last week.
The Lady Goats defeated Crockett, Elkhart, and Teague this past week to pick up three big district wins. The victories give Groesbeck a 9-9 overall record and a 7-5 district record and secured them a playoff spot.
Groesbeck’s Brandi Connally knocks down a kill during the 2020 volleyball season. Connally, a 6-foot outside hitter, was voted to the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) All-State second team last week.
The Groesbeck Goats were finally able to hit the court again on Tuesday, February 2, to take on the Buffalo Bison after missing three games due to their quarantine that ended on Monday, February 1. Groesbeck missed games with Franklin, Crockett and Elkhart, but those games have been rescheduled.
As the special teams coordinator and inside receivers coach at Waco Connally the past two years, Phillips Gibson has tutored some players with the potential to play in college.
