Paul gave Christians some advice on Holy living. He said, “Set your hearts . . . and mind on things above.” (Col 3:2, 3) However, believers do not always keep their minds free of evil thoughts. This is why Paul goes on to say, “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature.” (Col. 3:5) Clearly, most human problems have their root cause in our earthly nature, and we cannot escape our earthly nature because we live in these human bodies.
