Groesbeck Independent School District (GISD) Interim Superintendent Shirley J. Richardson outlined upcoming administrative changes in a letter to parents Friday, including the reassignment of two principals ahead of new superintendent Scott Cummings’ arrival in April.
Groesbeck Independent School District (ISD) has named Scott Cummings, current superintendent of Westphalia ISD, as the lone finalist for its superintendent position. The announcement was made by the Groesbeck ISD Board of Trustees at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, following a comprehensive search process led by Dr. George Kazanas, a superintendent search consultant.
A major traffic incident occurred on State Highway 14 on Tuesday morning when a Chevrolet SUV crashed into a cow that was unexpectedly in the roadway.
The Groesbeck Council considered future needs and causes for celebration at their meeting on Tuesday, March 18, including a centennial occasion for a city-owned and operated business.
“Swimming pool season is upon us, we are almost staffed with lifeguards, and this will be our 100th year that the city pool has been in operation,” City Administrator Chris Henson said. “Second oldest operating municipal pool in the state of Texas. Keith (TIlley) and his crew have been out there clearing the fence line, we’re replacing the entrance sign out there, and adding some signage to the building itself.”
