Groesbeck police busted what authorities say was an illegal gambling operation as they executed a search warrant Monday morning at Ruby’s Food Mart located at 619 N Ellis in Groesbeck.
While the rest of the world was adapting to COVID regulations of a recommended six feet of social distancing, the Groesbeck High School Band had to follow University Interscholastic League regulations as well and began the year with ten feet of physical distancing between all students during summer band practices in July and August. There are still eleven band members that have not been able to attend school in person regularly, though three or four of those came to after-school rehearsals in the fall. Despite the many challenges, band members have pulled together socially and musically to perform in so many excellent ways this school year.
Mutual Aide Assistant Group or MAG Inc., a Groesbeck nonprofit, is fighting for change with the #WalkerStrongInitiative.
