Small acts of kindness often put a smile on the face of the recipients, but TikTok sensation Kolby Shae ( Morton) took that to a new level on Friday, August 25 when she surprised a Groesbeck teen who has been walking to work all summer with a vehicle of his own and a large check.
The Groesbeck Lions Club reached the impressive milestone of 100 years of service on Thursday, August 24, and celebrated with a boisterous 1920s-themed banquet at the Groesbeck Convention Center.

Commissioners and County Judge Can’t Agree
Temperatures are hot and the dry conditions are fueling fires in our area. Groesbeck Fire Rescue (GFR) was dispatched along with Thornton VFD to a grass fire on LCR 632 around 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13. A total of 21 fire apparatus and a D6 dozer from the Texas Forestry Service battled the fire that consumed 30 acres. The terrain ranged from three to four feet of grassy areas and thick mesquite trees- making it challenging to access the fire.
