DAR Jonathan Hardin Chapter awards Good Citizen at recent meeting
The Jonathan Hardin Chapter of the DAR met on February 8 at the Gibbs Memorial Library in Mexia, Texas. The winners of the DAR Good Citizen awards from the local high schools in Freestone and Limestone Counties, along with their parents and some of their teachers and administrators, attended the meeting and were there to see their students receive their awards.

Every Monday – The Beer Joint hosts a Pool Tournament at 4864 TX-14 in Thorton. Players meet at 7:30 p.m., and the game starts at 8 p.m. – $10 buy-in.
COMMUNITY CALENDAR
Thursday, April 6 1 p.m. – The Sterling C. Robertson Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet at First Methodist Church downtown campus at 1300 Austin Ave. in Waco. The meeting is free and open to the public. Judge Robert Stem from Falls County will give a presentation on the Mier Expedition from the 1840s. He will include maps and artifacts that he has collect.
S&S Rentals &Sales joins chamber has grand opening celebration
The Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce welcomed S&S Rentals & Sales with a ribbon cutting at their location 1331 N. Hwy 14 in Groesbeck (across from GHS) on Friday March 31.
