The Cynthia Ann Garden Club named the home of Scott and Brandye Wilson on Burrow Street in Groesbeck as the Yard of the Month for May 2023.
American Legion Post 288 presented the Kirby Hyden, Sr. Memorial Scholarship last week to Groesbeck graduate, Kate Kelly. This year’s foreign student exchange program at Groesbeck High School included Antonio Cogo (Italy), Max Dlugosch (Germany), Aitana Rodriguez Tejero (Spain), and Meike Klaebe (Germany). On Thursday, May 11, several World War II veterans were honored at the State Capitol during the Senate session. One of those being honored was Chester “Buck” Sloan, uncle to Coach Larry Sloan of Groesbeck. Coach Sloan and these four students attended that ceremony as well as a tour of our State’s Capitol and a glimpse into our State government.
