The Groesbeck Study Club had its reassembly dinner at the Groesbeck Woman’s Club on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m. Club president, Mary Belle Leach welcomed the group and they were quickly invited to partake of the delicious food which all the members had brought. The social committee, Lea Hardison, Peggy Beck, Wanda Bush, Julia Morton, and Beth Westhoff, had decorated the room beautifully in a red and white “Back to the Roses” Theme. They had put out all the small tables about 3 to 4 feet apart in the center of the main room and covered them with white tablecloths. In the center of each table with 4 chairs were small crystal vases with a single red silk rose in each and the place settings consisted of a red plate with a clear plate in the center and silver utensils and all around the room were small crystal vases with more red silk roses in them. The console table was covered in red cloths and had both white roses and solid red napkins, clear dessert plates, and silver utensils and had amazing desserts which were brownie bites and lemon pound cakes. The delicious Sparkling Petal Punch was on the side table in a crystal punch bowl along with small clear cups. The main table was covered in a white brocade tablecloth and in the center in a large crystal vase were more than a dozen longstemmed red silk roses and babies’ breath and all around this were the food items that the club members had brought. They had eight to ten different types of salads, about that many finger foods, and at least five to six different chips or crackers to go along with them as well as some fruit dishes. Every bit of it was delicious. Many thanks to the social committee for all you did to make everything so wonderful.
