Limestone County Students entering 4th through 8th grades are welcome to attend Vacation Liberty School August 3rd through 5th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. at the Mary Helen Nance Community Center, 301 E. 8th Street in Thornton.

The Senior Center thanks Mario Gavan (M&G Construction) for replacing the ramp at the senior center. He donated his time and labor to tear out the old one, stabilize it better and replace the boards. The Board of Directors and all of our seniors really appreciate his generosity. Woodson’s was generous enough to donate the lumber to replace the ramp. Without their help, the center would not have been able to have such a nice ramp for our senior citizens. Nearly 60 Texas House Democrats left the state last Monday for Washington, D.C. in an effort to stop passage of a Republican-led elections bill. This in effect blocks all legislation since the House doesn’t have a quorum present. As the Austin American Statesman and other media outlets reported, Gov. Greg Abbott has threatened to arrest the absent lawmakers upon their return. While in Washington, the legislators have met with Vice President Kamala Harris and several Democratic senators to push passage of a federal elections bill that is currently stalemated.
