Lady Goats romp past Hillsboro in final non-district game

In their final tuneup before beginning District 20-3A play, the Groesbeck softball team walloped Hillsboro, 21-1, on Tuesday, Feb. 28, in a game that was stopped after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Texas has about 700,000 white- tailed deer hunters who routinely harvest about 800,000 deer each fall. The numbers from the 2022- 23 season are not yet crunched, but experts with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department say they won’t be surprised if the tally shows a decline in overall harvest statewide, possibly as much as 6- 9 percent.
