No Holds Barred
Watch out, Groesbeck! The Russian Bear Fighter is coming!
Dimitri Alexandrov, an independent wrestler, will be joined by Sam Stackhouse, Moonshine Mantell, and others at the Limestone County Fairgrounds Arena at 922 N. Tyus St. in Groesbeck on June 5 for Heart of Texas Wrestling’s Breaking the Barrier event.
Henry Whitt III, a Mart native is the event’s promoter and part owner of Heart of Texas Wrestling. He also served as the mayor pro tem of Mart.
Whitt promises a familyfriendly event that is rated PG with no foul language and no excessive violence. The night’s card features seven bouts, including a bull-rope match between the aforementioned Alexandrov and Exodus Prime for the Heart of Texas heavyweight championship. The wrestlers will be tied at the wrist and no disqualifications will be allowed.
Alexandrov is also known as Vladimir Putin’s least favorite wrestler. On social media, Alexandrov is critical of the Russian leader and has been blocked from all of the Kremlin’s social media accounts.
Mantell, an Oklahoman, described as a rougher Stone Cold Steve Austin, faces off Chris Carter for Carter’s Anarchy Televised Championship belt.
Whitt said that Carter is one of the highest flying wrestlers in Texas.
”Very flippy little guy,” Whitt said he’s an acrobat.”
This event is the wrestling promotion’s first visit to Groesbeck and the amount of events HOT wrestling puts on is increasing from one event every two-three months, to monthly events. Whitt said the events attract between 300-500 attendees.
Bell time for the event is 6 p.m., tickets can be purchased at hotprowrestling.com. Prices range from $15-$25.
