The Groesbeck Journal has named Goats senior quarterback Trent Platt the August Player of the Month. Platt rushed for 186 yards on 25 carries and added five touchdowns and a two-point conversion in Groesbeck's 56-42 win over Rogers on Aug. 30. He also threw for 117 yards in the game to eclipse 300 all-purpose yards.
