William (Bill) Walker Turner
William (Bill) Walker Turner passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 5, 2019. Bill was born December 16, 1931 in Seale, Texas.
Bill was a graduate of his beloved Franklin Lions High School. All his life he was an avid Franklin football fan along with his brother, John. After graduation Bill served in the Army in the Korean War where he earned a Bronze Star and service medals. Bill married his wife, Wilma, and they moved to Pasadena to raise their three children. Everyone who knew them knew how much Bill and Wilma loved each other. They are now reunited in Heaven.
Bill worked his entire career at Ethyl, along with his brother John, and retired to his beloved home place in Seale, Texas, also with his brother John.
Bill was fire chief of the Seale Round Prairie volunteer fire department for 14 years. He, along with his brother John, were founding members of Lake Limestone Baptist Church where he served as a deacon until his passing. Bill loved and served the Lord with all his heart.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Edna and Johnie Turner, sister Juanita Newsome, and his wife Wilma Faye Turner. Bill is survived by his brother John Earl Turner, daughter Jan Lawrence, son and daughter-inlaw Gordon and Nancy Turner, daughter and son-in-law Judy and Lucian Williams, grandchildren Shaunna Buxton, Josh Turner, Travis Turner, Calli Rackauskas, Cody Bass, Matthew Williams, Sarah Anderson, and great grandchildren Abby Buxton, Lane Buxton, Brooks Buxton, Layton Bass, Brayden Turner, Brantley Turner, and Presley Bass. Bill loved and was loved by many others.
Funeral services were held Sunday September 8, 2019, at the Lake Limestone Baptist Church. Bill was buried next to his wife, Wilma, at Seale-Round Prairie Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Josh Turner, Travis Turner, Cody Bass, Matthew Williams, David Turner, Scott Blakeway, Jacob Anderson and Ronny Willis. Honorary pallbearers were the members of Bill’s Men’s Sunday School Class. Visit www.groesbeckfuneralhome.com to leave messages of condolence on the guestbook.
