Virginia Nell Crownover

Virginia Nell Crownover, age 81, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Waco.

Visitation will be held at Groesbeck Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 29, 2021.

Graveside services will be held at Lost Prairie Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, with Pastor Jon Honea officiating.

Virginia was born on March 2, 1940, to Osborne Kennedy and Nora Inez (Sims) Kennedy in Groesbeck. She grew up and attended school in Groesbeck until the family moved to Freeport. She lived most of her life around the coast area.

Virginia and her parents and children often visited relatives in Groesbeck through the years, leaving many good memories. When her father passed away, she moved her mother and children to Groesbeck to be nearer the relatives, and her children attended school in Groesbeck. Virginia worked as a waitress at Josie’s Café, and had so much fun laughing with her friends and customers. She was an outgoing lady with a pretty smile that attracted people to her, and she had many friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Kennedy and Douglas Kennedy; and grandson, Ryan Abbott.

She is survived by her son, Timmy Mitchell of Mason, Iowa; daughter and son-inlaw, Terri and Kent Blair of Arroyo Seco, New Mexico; daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Mike Hill of Waco; son, Trent Crownover of Waco; and daughter, Trixie Crownover of Waco; also by her grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
