Rita Ann Lenamond
Rita Ann Lenamond, “Ninny”, 78, gained her wings on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
A graveside service was held at the Old Union Cemetery Pavilion on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Glenn Easterly of the Old Union Church of Christ officiating.
Pallbearers were Bradey Spivey, Coltin Lenamond, Trace Baldwin, Colin Lenamond, Brad Applegate, Brian Mask, and Robert Mask.
Rita Ann was born November 29, 1942 and was a lifelong resident of Old Union. She graduated from Groesbeck High School in the Class of 1961.
Rita Ann was united in marriage with Ronnie Lenamond and was a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a very dependable, caring, and giving woman. Her kids were her life and she dearly loved her grandchildren.
Rita Ann had a heart of gold. If anyone was ever in need, she was the first to help. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren at all times and when her family could be together at holidays or other gatherings. Rita Ann enjoyed the company of her family whether in person or over the phone and always knew how to make her loved ones laugh. Anyone was welcomed to her with open arms. Her presence and company will truly be missed; rest in peace Ninny.
Rita Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Grimes Quirk; her father, Recial Cox; as well as her grandparents, Alice and George Cox and Jimmie and Arva Grimes.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Dean Lenamond, to whom she would have been married for 55 years on June 3rd. Rita Ann is also survived by her daughters, Stacy Lynn Lenamond and Tina Ann Spivey and husband Ronny Spivey; as well as her grandchildren Bailey and Bradey Spivey. She had three cousins with whom she was very close, Vicki Deffern, Renee Applegate, and Sharon Breedlove; all of the extended Lenamond family and other extended family.
