Phillip Kenley Badgett, son of Linda Badgett and the late Thomas Badgett, was born on July 3rd, 1969 in Bridgeport, AL. He was a graduate of Groesbeck High School. At an early age, he was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he was a dedicated and devout member. At the Mexia branch in Mexia, Texas he served as the branch clerk, along with serving the branch and surrounding area in many other ways.
Phillip was eager to serve anyone in his path. He had a desire to serve any person in his capacity- from church members to colleagues, to family members and strangers alike. He gave generously and often- for nothing in return. He lived by a strong code of conduct and was consistently doing what he believed to be right. His faith was steadfast and unwavering- he was a beacon and a guide for those around him. He loved many and was loved by many. Much like his physical stature- he was known to have a large and unforgettable personality. He had knowledge in many different skillsets. He never lacked knowledge and wit. “[He] can fix anything from a broken heart to the crack of dawn.”
Phillip is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Ralph Badgett, and his brother, Tracy Stephen Badgett.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished by his mother, Linda Badgett; sister, Melissa “Missy” McWhirter; children, Thomas Kenley Badgett, Phillip Logan Badgett, Peyton Simms, Ashton Simms, Jessica Simms, and Gunnar Giblette; daughters-in-law; Kaylee Simms, Chrissi Simms and Olivia Badgett; grandchildren, Emma Simms and Ava Badgett; nieces, Harlie Masters and Jamie Anthony; great nieces and nephews, Hayden Anthony, Brintley Anthony, Rhyatt Masters, and Waylon Masters; along with a host of other family members and friends.
