Laney Lenamond
Laney Lenamond, of Groesbeck, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Limestone Medical Center.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Living Proof Church in Groesbeck, with Pastor John Carabin officiating. Burial folllowed at Cobb Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kole Gardiner, Coltin Lenamond, Bradley Mushinski, Beau Pagel, Dillon Thomas, Dre Browning, Ramsey Smith and Johnny Mouton. Honorary bearers were Cadin Lenamond, Tori Burge, Summer Dugan, Andee Dugan, Maddi Winstead, Bre Welch, Jesse Duke, Remington Masters, Jacie Steen, Lacey Abshire and Kolby Ayres.
Laney was born August 31, 2005 to Trent and Misty Lenamond. She attended Groesbeck schools and was a graduating 8th grader headed to High School. She was a fighting Goat who enjoyed running Cross Country and participating in the Middle School band. Laney always had a smile on her face and a natural uplifting cheer. She had a gift of designing clothes and was always smiling and loving. Laney enjoyed entertaining the residents at Windsor Manor Nursing Home by singing to them, a true testimony of giving and caring for others. Her innovative thinking was once displayed by selling left over ice cream from a birthday party with her cousins and siblings to anyone that passed by the house for extra spending money; Laney loved her ice cream, but she could never say no to a pickle!
She is preceded in death by her daddy, Trent Lenamond; great grandparents, Louise and Cecil Perkins and Cecil Ray Perkins, Sr.; aunt and uncle, Anna and JR McVay, PeeWee Lenamond, Chesley Masters; great aunts, Susan Perkins and Rennie Yarborough; Papa Wesley Winstead and cousins, Blake McIntire, Jacobey Arroyo and Darius Quinlan.
Laney is survived by her mother, Misty Perkins and Johnny Mouton; brothers and sisters, Kole Gardiner, Zendon Owen, Coltin Lenamond, Cadin Lenamond, Bradley Mushinski, Taylor Lenamond and son Ayden Jones, Zaylee Owen, Zaynie Owen and Miley Owen; paternal grandparents, Jimmy and Lavaughn Lenamond; maternal grandparents, Sonny and Lois Bennett of Mexia; and numerous nieces, cousins and extended loving family.
