Kathryn (Kat) Swinnea

Kathryn (Kat) Swinnea was born January 4, 1920 in Kosse Texas to Claude and Florence Posey Johnson. She was the youngest of nine children. Kat passed from this life on January 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Grover Swinnea, her oldest daughter Carolyn Fairbairn and her husband Bill, a grandson Shane and her eight siblings and their spouses. Kat is survived by a daughter Charylott, a son Charles (Pam) and a daughter Jan Claeys (Greg) seven grandchildren, Heather Phillips (Patrick), Nic Claeys (Catherine), Matt Claeys, Bryan Claeys (Kerry), Sharla Tilley (Jason), Stephanie Kruger (Jason) and Tara Swinnea. In addition there are eight great-grandchildren. Kat served as an intensive care nurse at a children’s hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas for over twenty five years and also was an active member in the Ft. Worth community. In retirement she served the church she loved, Kosse United Methodist Church, and in her words, took care of old people. Due to Covid-19, there will be a private family graveside service and a Memorial Celebration to be scheduled when it is safe to have a large gathering. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Kosse United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. She will be deeply missed; if you knew her, you loved her and she loved you.
