Joyce Nealon Williams

Joyce Nealon Williams, of Angleton, Texas, passed away at Bulverde Assisted Living in Bulverde, TX, on Friday, August 18, 2023, at age 83.

Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Saturday, August 26, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m., in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Clifton Jones of the Prairie Grove Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Lost Prairie Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Derek Williams, Rick Williams, Blake Damm, Mike Stefka, Ken Pierce, and Kevin Thompson.

Nealon was born December 16, 1939, to James Elton Williams and Era V. (Sims) Williams in Houston. He grew up in Clute, TX, and graduated from Brazosport High School in Clute.

Nealon served 4 years in the U. S. Navy on an IceBreaker, from September 1959 through September 1963.

Nealon was united in marriage with his high school sweetheart, Alvera, on August 7, 1965, in Velasco, TX. They made their home in Richwood, TX, and finally Angleton, TX.

Nealon was a construction engineer in the chemical and plastic manufacturing industry, working for Dow Chemical until he retired. Nealon loved family, fishing, and classic cars, as well as working around the house and a good game of washers. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Nealon was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Alvera.

He is survived by is son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Kimberly Williams, and daughter and sonin- law, Stacy and Bryan Chatwell, both of San Antonio; grandchildren, Alex and Taylor Camacho and Blake Damm, of San Antonio; Ashley and Kevin Thompson of Schertz; Brooke Williams of San Marcos; and greatgrandchildren, Chloe Thompson and Hailey Thompson of Schertz.

Also, he is survived by his siblings, Buddy Williams of Clute; Yvonne Pierce of Sour Lake; Joe Williams of Groesbeck; Ann Stefka of Cedar Park, and James Williams of Lake Jackson.
