Joyce was born to Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Coe (Margaret Lucille Stewart Coe) on April 10, 1937, and shared her birthday with her twin sister, Janice, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her older brother, Jim Coe and her younger sister, Neva (Bettie) Cordova.
1955 was a very busy year for her; she graduated from Groesbeck High School, got married, and had her first child, Gary Lynn Ferguson, who has also preceded her in death.
Then in 1957, the first set of twins were born, Brenda and Linda; followed by Dennis and Denise in 1961, and Paula and Pam in 1966. So, you could basically say her busy life never stopped until the morning of August 23rd. During her life she was also a 27-year employee of the Mexia State School. Joyce was a member of the Forest Glade Baptist Church.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters Janice, Jim and Neva as stated above; sons Gary Ferguson and Dennis Ferguson; and two grandchildren, Blake McIntire and Rachel Smith.
She is survived by the father of her children, Cleve Ferguson of Old Union; daughter Brenda and husband Dr. Sheer Rahaman of Old Union; daughter Denise Winstead and husband Robert (Toad) of Old Union; daughter, Linda Smith of Mexia; daughter, Paula Mathison and husband Carl of Teague; and daughter, Pam Ferguson of Mexia; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
