Josie Yvonne Williams Yielding

Josie Yvonne Williams Yielding, 86, passed away in the early morning hours on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, in Rowlett.

Graveside service were held Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023 at 1:00 pm in Oakwood Cemetery, Corsicana.

Yvonne was born Sunday, August 1, 1937, in Groesbeck, Texas to parents Leonard W. and Edna Earl Cook Williams. She grew up on a farm in a very rural area where, at that time, there was no electricity, water, telephone, paved roads, or other city services. Yvonne joined Groesbeck Methodist Church, on her own, at age 11. She was a Majorette at Groesbeck High School and was an accomplished Baton twirler. Upon graduation, she began her career with the Texas Highway Department near Groesbeck. She later transferred to Dallas when her family relocated there. It was there she met Robert L. Yielding, who she was married to for 51 years. Later, Yvonne continued her career at Mobil Oil for 30 years.

Yvonne was a very avid reader and served in several leadership positions in her Book Club. She and her husband were both very astute Bridge players Yvonne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert L. Yielding, and two brothers, Larry Gene Williams and Barry Cook Williams.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Marie Yielding Livingston, and husband, William (Bill) L; granddaughter, Katherine Livingston; brother, Kerry Lynn Williams and wife, Brenda; two nieces and one nephew.
