Keith was born in Mexia on November 28, 1971, to Jimmy and Rosemary Vest. Keith lived around the Groesbeck and Thornton area for most of his life and graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1990.
Keith loved everything about music, and you could always find his guitar close by. He loved to play at family gatherings and sing with his sister Shawna. He loved his pets, his family, his kids and grandkids. Keith was a hard worker who learned many trades to help his family. He worked as a Boiler Maker for many years, as a General Foreman for Fluor, and was a certified welder and pipe fitter. Keith was also very talented, working with his hands repairing electronics and could find a way to fix just about anything that wasn’t working or was broken. He truly was a “jack-of-all trades.” Keith was always there to help anyone who needed him, and he never asked for much other than a Dr. Pepper or a snack.
Keith married his soulmate on June 29, 2001 and resided in Thornton, Tx with his wife Kathy for the remainder of his days on earth.
Keith is preceded in death by grandparents, Lela Mae Vest and Bruce Vest and his aunt, Rita Vest Wiley of Groesbeck.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Vest of Thornton; parents, Jimmy and Rosemary Vest of Groesbeck; his sister Shawna Vest Sunday of Mart; his children, Spencer Vest, Stetson Vest, and Kasey Vest Smith of Groesbeck, and Kori Vest of Breckenridge Texas; his stepchildren, Dustin Johnson, Calup Johnson and Brittney Johnson of Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Holly Vest, Madden Robertson, Nolan Robertson, Eli Smith, Ivan Smith, LaShay Vest, Kenzlie Jones, Kellen Self, Robbie Westberry IV, Serenity Westberry, Joshua Saadon Jr, Lucas Johnson, Wesley Johnson, Eliana Johnson, Calup Johnson Jr, Koralee Johnson and Kaisley Johnson, along with several nieces and nephews.
