Clinton A. Foster
Clinton A. Foster passed away in Mexia, TX. on Thursday, July 30, 2019, at age 81.
He was born May 15, 1938 in Decatur, Arkansas to Talton Foster and Lola Mae Burns Foster Wood.
Clint married Joan Robertson in 1958 and they had two daughters. He spent most of his adult life working in the construction industry, most notably owning his own lathing and plastering company in Weslaco. He was very proud of the many schools, universities, churches and hospitals he helped to build along with the work he did on building the Gladys Porter Zoo. He retired from the R.E. Friedrichs Co. (REFCO) in Pharr and moved to Groesbeck, TX to be closer to family. Some of his favorite times were going fishing, first with his mother, his brothers, his friends, and especially taking his grandsons. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His family would like to thank his caregivers from Texas Home Health, most notably Megan and Caroline, and the staff of Mexia LTC.
Clint was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Marvin Foster, Evert Foster, and Donald Foster; and his beloved grandson, Evan Jeter.
He is survived by daughters Debra Gravett (Lee), McAllen, TX; Cynthia Lenamond (Grady), Skiatook, OK; grandsons Jeff Gravett, Houston TX and Garrett Lenamond, Skiatook, OK; former spouse and mother of his daughters, Joan Foster, The Woodlands, TX; brothers, Carl Wood (Sherry) and Larnce Wood, both of Gentry AR; his sister, Pauline Grimm, Riverside, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
Groesbeck Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements and no funeral services will be held at this time. The family plans to hold a “Celebration of Life” at a later date. Those wishing to honor him can make a donation to the Make a Wish Foundation (wish.org) or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (jdrf.org) or the charity of your choice.
