Loyce Loraine Thomson

Loyce Loraine Thomson, of Mt. Vernon, TX., passed away at Windsor Healthcare Residence on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, at age 80.
Loyce and her twin sister, Joyce, were born Oct. 6, 1944, to Oscar LaForce and Grace (Howard) LaForce, in Mt. Vernon, where she grew up and attended school and where she married her high school sweetheart.
Loyce worked in the commercial security field for Raytheon (E Systems, later L3) which had a government contract. While she lived in Greenville, she had a top security clearance, working as a security guard for Air Force One while it was on the ground in Greenville for servicing. She had pictures of several of the U.S. Presidents whose planes she guarded. Also, other planes for Saudi Arabian princes and other dignitaries were among her guard duties during the twenty years she worked there. 
She lived later in Fate, and during the last fifteen years of work before she retired, she was a security guard for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Dallas.
Loyce and her identical Twin Joyce remained “thick as thieves” all their life, until Joyce passed away seven years ago. She enjoyed dancing and traveling, with several trips to Hawaii. 
Loyce was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Terrell, TX. She remained active until health issues two years ago, and she moved to Groesbeck to be close to her Dennis and Kim and resided in Windsor.
Loyce was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Joyce; and brothers Orvin LaForce and Donny Brown.
She is survived by son, Dennis Thomson and Kim Bailey of Groesbeck; daughter, Kendra Harrison of Oklahoma; a grandchild and 3 great grandchildren; and her brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Connie LaForce of Oletha, Kansas.
