Early voting for local elections begins Monday
As the calendar inches closer to May, residents of Groesbeck and Thornton are gearing up for local elections, with early voting set to kick off Monday, April 22.
In Groesbeck, voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots for the city's leadership positions. Mayor Matthew Dawley is seeking re-election unopposed, ensuring his continued stewardship of the city for another term.
However, the city council race in Groesbeck is heating up, with three positions up for grabs. Incumbent Tamikia Jackson is seeking re-election, facing competition from challengers Marcus McGruder, Pamela Gonner, and Dayne Duncan.
