Senior Citizens are invited to enjoy camaraderie and a variety of games or puzzles before a discounted lunch at the Kosse Community Center on Tuesdays, provided by the Meals on Wheels program for $3 per plate.
Kosse Seniors Resume Weekly Lunches at Community Center
Pre-COVID, senior citizens from Kosse would meet at the community center once a week to enjoy a discounted lunch provided by Groesbeck Senior Citizens/Meals on Wheels, and this month, they have resumed their weekly mealtime gatherings.
According to City Secretary Christina Lockhart, more than a dozen seniors attended the first luncheon last Tuesday, Feb. 20, and 11 participated on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
“The seniors are excited to be back,” Lockhart said. “They come at 10:30 and play some games, then lunch is served about 11:30 or 11:45.”
Seniors interested in joining the lunches are asked to RSVP at City Hall, and the cost is $3 per meal. Though lunch will not be held on Tuesday, March 5 because the Community Center is a polling place for the General Primary Election, the senior lunches will resume on Tuesday, March 12.
