Local Church and Community Join Forces to Provide Thanksgiving Meals to 153 Families
Living Proof Church, in partnership with Cargill in Waco, the Adult Probation Department, and AccentCare, organized a successful Thanksgiving meal delivery event on Saturday, Nov. 18. The event saw volunteers scramble to prepare all of their donated items to be delivered later in the day.
The event, which was sponsored by Living Proof Church, aimed to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need in the local community. Over 153 families received donated items and meals, which were delivered by volunteers.
John Carabin, pastor at Living Proof Church, expressed his joy in seeing the community come together to help their fellow man. “Almost 1/3 of all the meals delivered were delivered by community members who do not attend church at LPC, but wanted to lend a hand and make a happy Thanksgiving possible,” he said when asked about the success of the event.
Volunteers were seen packing items into delivery boxes and bags in preparation for the event, ensuring that every family received the necessary items for a happy Thanksgiving meal.
The event was a huge success, thanks to the generosity of the community and the hard work of volunteers from Living Proof Church, Cargill in Waco, the Adult Probation Department, and AccentCare. The organizers hope to continue this tradition in the years to come, bringing joy and happiness to the local community during the holiday season.
