Roque Adrian Pullio

Roque Adrian Pullio, of Groesbeck, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away at Limestone Medical Center on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at age 68.

Visitation will be held at the Groesbeck Funeral Home on Friday, October 8, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will follow on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Tracy Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Faulkenberry Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gavin Groves, Colin Groves, Christopher Reeves, Ramin Pourfar, Joshua Sims, and Jason Black.

Roque was born to Jack and June Pullio on March 31, 1953 in Baldwin Park, California. He grew up and graduated from high school and college in Southern California. Roque first moved to Texas with his family in 1986, where he worked as a manager for a concrete pipe company in the Dallas area. He subsequently moved to Groesbeck and worked as a manager for U.S. Silica in Kosse from 1993 to 2015.

Roque was extremely active throughout his life and made friends wherever he went with his openness and contagious laugh. He enjoyed running, cycling, racquetball, tennis, and golf; playing board and trivia games; outings to the movie theater; imparting the importance of reading and lifelong learning and knowledge seeking to his family and friends; and spending time outside taking in nature and digging sand with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, both in the United States and abroad, and was a zoo aficionado. Roque loved cooking and baking delicious foods for his family and friends, and could masterfully prepare a comainducing Thanksgiving spread.

He was also known in Groesbeck for opening his home to serve as a host family to numerous foreign exchange students who came from all over the world to attend Groesbeck High School over the course of many years. In his retirement, Roque’s dual passions were spending time with his family and beekeeping. Roque maintained his beehives in Groesbeck and sold honey made with love locally. He was a member of the Texas Beekeeping Association and the Heart of Texas Beekeepers Club in Waco.

Roque’s family and friends will remember him for his good humor, ready smile and laugh, and kind spirit. He was very loved and will be missed more than words can say.

Roque was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and June Pullio; his sisters, Toni Groves and Monica Reeves; and his stepchildren, Joseph Davenport and Anastasia Kuzminas.

He is survived by his daughter, Jeannette Pullio-Puder; his daughter and son-in-law, Robyn Pullio and Ramin Pourfar; his stepsons, Nikolay Kuzminas and Michael Davenport; his grandchildren, Evan Puder, Jacob Puder, June Pourfar, and Samuel Pourfar; and numerous nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces.
