Timothy “Benny” Shaunfield

A “Celebration of Life” Memorial service for Timothy Benjamin “Benny” Shaunfield, will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Groesbeck Funeral Home. Benny passed away last year on Memorial Day, May 25, 2020, and due to Covid 19 virus restraints at that time, the family postponed holding a service for family and friends until this date.

The service will be officiated by Dennis Wilson with honors by the East Lake Limestone Volunteer Fire Department and Masonic Lodge #354 of Groesbeck. Benny was a member of the Groesbeck Masonic Lodge and was serving as President of the East Lake Limestone Volunteer Fire Department when he passed away last year.

Benny was born January 1, 1953, in Houston to Enoch Wesley Shaunfield and Melba L. Shaunfield. His parents and brothers Randy Shaunfield and Miles Shaunfield have preceded him in death.

Benny retired from NRG Energy, where he was a planner, in 2016. Hunting and fishing with family and friends were his life-long passions, as well as his community service with the volunteer fire department and the masonic lodge.

Benny is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Heather Dean Shaunfield, and their children, Brylee and Bryson; and his daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Marcus Smail, and their son Wesley. He was also survived by his wife Cindy Shaunfield and her son, James Collins, and her daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Ryan Hargrave, and their children, Luke and Cole.
