OCTOBER 31 - Trick or Treating will occur in Groesbeck with the suggested time being from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Halloween, specifically Trick or Treating, has not been “canceled” by the City of Groesbeck. The universal sign for those residences not participating in trick or treating is the porch light being off so if you encounter a residence with lights out, please pass it up.
OCTOBER 31 - 10 am - The members of Thornton Masonic Lodge 486 invite the public to join in the Cornerstone Ceremony at the NEW Masonic Hall located in Thornton Texas at 104 E 11th. St. The Ceremony will begin at 10 am with the RW: GSW Brad Billings of the Grand Lodge of Texas presiding. The Thornton City Council and the people of the Thornton / Groesbeck area are invited to attend this historical event. Please come and join in the celebration.
NOVEMBER 2 - Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, McLennan County, and McLennan Continuing Education Department are offering a professional food manager certification training course at McLennan County Extension Office located at 4224 Cobbs Dr., Waco, TX 76710. The cost will be $125.00 which includes training, materials, and SERV Safe National Food Manager Certification Examination. The food manager’s certification will be valid anywhere in the state of Texas for five years. 10 a.m.-noon – “Surviving the Holidays” grief seminar for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 519 S. McKinney in Mexia.
