Lions club discusses current Budget
At its meeting on Wednesday, September 10, the Groesbeck Lions Club again discussed its budget for the current Lions Club year. The Club had a budget hearing during its previous meeting on September 3.
Several items in the budget were again discussed. Several visitors attended the meeting.
One of those guests was Elle Stariszenski, who recently moved from Washington, D. C. to Thornton, Texas. Stariszenski is very much involved in the Pro-life and Anti-Abortion movements. She has distributed several signs which state: “Pray to End Abortion”.
The local Lions Club is currently selling tickets for its annual summer-fall gun raffle as a fundraiser for the Groesbeck Lions Club. Tickets are one ticket for $5.00 or five tickets for $20.00. Tickets for the rifle are being sold at various football games. Various members of the Lions Club are also selling tickets and tickets may also be purchased at the Farmers State Bank in Groesbeck. The rifle for the drawing is a Mossberg Patriot Predator 6.5 Creednnoor Bolt Action Rifle with Stratus Camo Stock and Case. Need not be present to win. Winner subject to NICS approval. The rifle for the drawing was obtained from Black Cactus Armory in Groesbeck. The drawing for the rifle will be at the last Groesbeck Goat home football game on October 16. Please don’t wait; buy your ticket or tickets as soon as possible!
