One dead following accidental shooting in Groesbeck
The Groesbeck Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 300 block of South Ellis Street shortly after midnight Sunday, April 19. The initial 911 call indicated that the incident was an accidental shooting. The victim, currently identified as a man, was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released at a later time. Groesbeck Police Chief Chris Henson, Corporal Tyrell Hobbs and Officer Brad Martin responded onscene and conducted the investigation, in addition to responding agents from the LCSO. Officer Robert Koch of the Kosse Police Department, LSCO Deputies Willett and Bozeman, Groesbeck Volunteer Fire Department and Limestone Medical Center EMS also responded.
