Fish fry to benefit local worker in cancer battle

A fish fry befitting Jimmy Sorrells, an employee of Woodson's in Groesbeck will be held Sunday, March 22. Only 400 plates will be sold, consisting of fish, fries and beans. Plates will be dine-in or takeout at a cost of $10 each. Woodson Lumber, located at 1219 E. Yeagua St., will host the event from 1 to 3 p.m.

A raffle for a Weatherby .22-.250 rifle and a Remington 12-Gauge Automatic 1187 Shotgun will also be held during the event. Tickets cost $20 each or six for $100, which can be split between guns. Those entering the raffle need not be present to win.
