Geraldean “Gerry” Eva Baker

Age 88 Funeral services for Geraldean “Gerry” Eva Baker of Jewett will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at noon, at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett.

Visitation will be held prior to the service of Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Gerry Baker slipped into the arms of her loving Heavenly Father on the evening of September 11, 2019.

Geraldean “Gerry” Eva Baker 1931-2019 Born in Bristol, Tennessee

She was preceded in death by one son Jeffery Scott Baker and her husband of over 55 years, Stewart Frederick “Fred” Baker. Gerry and Fred met at Ellington AFB while both were serving in the U. S. Air Force. She was honorably discharged in 1953 to continue as a loving wife and mother. Gerry loved her flowers, historical home and her many hobbies, but above all she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was happiest when they were around her. She was a founding member of the Jewett Library and Museum, a member of Jewett Methodist Church and of the Bright Morning Star Bible Circle. After suffering a stroke in her later years, she remained cheerful and will forever be remembered for her smiles and laughter. She loved her coffee and doing her jigsaw puzzles and always looked forward to seeing friends and family.

She is survived by her children and their spouses; Mike Baker and wife Darryl, Barbara Miles and husband Jim, Andrea Weaver, Suzanne Plyer and husband Mark, Jennifer Copeland and husband Bubba. Her grandchildren; Sean Baker and wife Katie, Adam Plyer and wife Kandice, Erin Plyer, Kendal Plyer, Cullen Copeland, Conner Copeland, Christopher Weaver and wife Amber and Patrick Weaver. Her great grandchildren; Cody Baker, Sydney Baker, Abigail Baker, Kristian Baker and Wyatt Weaver.
