Billie Jo Bennett

Billie Jo Bennett (nee Moncrief), of Thornton, TX, passed away May 21, 2019 in Groesbeck at the age of 96. She will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019 in the Kosse Texas Cemetery. Should there be inclement weather, family and friends will gather at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton instead of the cemetery.

Billie Jo was born, January 14, 1923, outside of Kosse on her family’s farm and spent most of her 96 years in the area. She touched so many lives, all are welcome.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice (James); grandchildren, Ivy (Randy) and Ty (Meg) and great granddaughters, Clementine and Rosalyn; nephew, Wayne Sharp; and dear friend, Ann Brown.

Billie Jo was preceded in death by her parents; Myrtle and Henry Arthur Moncrief; sisters, Irene Kirkpatrick and Flora Sharp; and brothers, Leland, Burton and Allen Moncrief.

Mrs. Bennett requested no flowers.
