Timothy William Rutledge left to join his Savior in his heavenly home, February 14, 2019.
Tim’s services will be Saturday, February 23, at the Lost Prairie Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 9:00 a. m. and military memorial service at 10:00 a.m.
Urn bearers will be fellow service members. Honorary urn bearers are Travis White, Justin Shockley, Thomas Webb, Stefan Minchew, Cooper Blackwell, and Toby Ainsworth.
Timothy was born to Tommy and Tia Rutledge in Waco, TX on July 29, 1999. Tim attended Dew ISD, Fairfield ISD, and graduated early from Groesbeck High School in May 2017. In September of 2017, he left for basic training with the US Army. January 19, 2018, Tim graduated with the Charlie Company, 35th Engineer Battalion as a 12B Combat Engineer.
Tim married his high school sweetheart Taylor Cheyanne Webb on December 30, 2017. He was an active member of the Army Reserves and began work at Walmart until being accepted into the TDCJ Officer Training Academy. He graduated posthumously from the TDCJ Officer Training Academy on February 15, 2019.
Tim was a happy, helpful, and hardworking man. He was willing to help any person he knew and was expressed by his fellow Correctional Officer communications with his family at the graduation ceremony. He enjoyed welding and tinkering on automobiles. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping. Tim loved family gatherings, especially eating during those gatherings. Tim will be remembered for his goofy smile and infectious humor.
Tim is survived by his wife Taylor Webb Rutledge of Groesbeck; his mother Tia Rutledge of Teague; father Tommy Rutledge (Susan); mother-in-law, Jessie Loraine Webb of Groesbeck. Tim is also survived by brothers Travis White of Teague, Justin Shockley and Thomas Webb of Groesbeck; his sisters Kathlyn Rutledge of Teague, Brittany Rutledge of Waco, Kimberly Master (Kristopher) of Groesbeck. He is survived by grandparents Janice and John Hodge, Jessie and Laura Webb of Groesbeck, Robert and Molly Dollar of Duluth, MN., Bill and Carolyn Rutledge of Kosse, Wanda Jackson of Whitewright. Tim is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
