There are three contested local races for the upcoming Nov. 3 General Election, one in Mexia, one in Groesbeck and one in Wortham.

Groesbeck Fire Department responded to the scene of a structure fire involving a storage facility in the 200 block of East Jacinto on Thurs. Sept. 17. Mexia and Kosse Fire Departments as well as Groesbeck Police Department and LMC EMS were called to assist. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by Groesbeck PD as possible arson.
