While the Heritage House will be available for tours during Homecoming as it has been in previous years, the Heritage Society is also putting in extra hours to make it a working bed and bath available for weekend or overnight rentals.

“Groesbeck Red” planters marks 150 Years of history

The new “Groesbeck Red” planters are the result of a generous donation to the Cynthia Ann Garden Club by James Fewell. More than a year ago, the Garden Club had expressed interest in placing some plants or small trees to beautify the downtown area. Hearing of this, James offered some of his small crepe myrtles, but time continued to pass and his crepe myrtles continued to grow. Realizing that these, although small, were not the appropriate plant, James sent a check to close friend and club member Martha Stone in place of the plants with the direction to use it as the Club wants.
